According to the national civil code, the legal age for marriage is 18 years. It should also allow 10 days for publication of banns. Only after 10 days of posting of the banns that marriage may be celebrated.
For foreign nationals: Article 58 of Law No. 2009-594 adopted May 27, 2009 now allows the marriage of two foreign nationals not residing in French Polynesia in the town of their choice and without condition residence. The future spouses must submit a dossier containing the documents required at least one month and ten days before the date of marriage.
